Mission

The California Long-Term Care Ombudsman Association (CLTCOA) is dedicated to improving the accessibility and quality of long-term care ombudsman services for elders and vulnerable adults living in nursing homes, residential care facilities and other long-term care facilities across California.

The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Association (CLTCOA) is a membership organization made up of the 35 local Long-Term Care Ombudsman Programs, their staff, certified volunteers and program supporters. Since 1979, it has been the mission of CLTCOA to provide a unified voice in advocacy and assistance to the Local Long-Term Care Ombudsman Programs in California to enable the local programs to provide Ombudsman services to the residents of long term care facilities.

Objectives

  • To provide the practical resources necessary to build and strengthen the local Ombudsman programs.
  • To communicate real time information for inspired leaders.
  • Advocate as the unified voice on legislation and issues that affect local Ombudsman programs and long term care residents.
  • Sponsor and/or support legislation that impacts quality of life and quality of care for long-term care residents. We often comment on, support or oppose legislation that affects the health, welfare and safety of facility residents.
